Man charged for rejoicing after bomb blast in Kano

Muhammad Yusuf, was on Friday, arraigned before the Sabon Gari Shari’a Court, for reportedly jubilating “in the presence of a large crowd”, after he came back from the scene of a recent bomb blast in Kano state.
Yusuf was charged with inciting and disturbing public peace.
Chairman of Gidan Boss Mechanics, Lawan Hassan, who reported the matter at the Fagge Divisional Police Station, accused Yusuf of celebrating openly, when he returned from the scene of two bomb blasts, in which 24 people died and many others were injured.

The Arewa Youth Form, Northern Nigeria came to The SCOAN to present Prophet T.B. Joshua with a prestigious merit award as an Ambassador of Peace. 
National Director of Public Affairs, Arewa Youth Forum, Benue, Nigeria, Bello Abdulhamid, said they came to The SCOAN because of love which the man of God has always demonstrated irrespective of barriers of race, religion, creed or ethnicity. Speaking on behalf of the northern states of Nigeria, he said that Kaduna, Yobe, Plateau, Kano and Jigawa States are all beneficiaries of the trailers of rice that Prophet T.B. Joshua sends.
He said, “Prophet T.B. Joshua is a man with phenomenal vision. He shows a deep sense of compassion and unconditional love. Prophet T.B. Joshua is a blessing not only to us in Nigeria but also the international community. Prophet T.B. Joshua is the very first man of God that we are visiting and honouring. Our independent assessment has shown that The SCOAN has been committed to provide not only for the spiritual but also for the physical wellbeing of people”.

Addressing his nation, he said, “Fellow Nigerians, we are here because of the love we see in the life of Prophet T.B. Joshua. We need love to come together as a nation. Where there is love, there is no killing, stealing or destruction. Where there is love, there is no segregation. Love is the solution to our problems in Nigeria”.
Explaining the reason why The Arewa Youth Forum chose to come to The SCOAN, he said that they are looking for men and women of love for consultation for the way out for this country.
The National President of the Arewa Youth Forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo, said that they have picked Prophet T.B. Joshua as a leader to bring back the lost love in Nigeria.
Isa Kurgui, the National Vice President, North-Central, Arewa Youth Forum said that in a society where there is love, you can sleep without locking your door, you can go anywhere without fear. He concluded by saying that from this day henceforth, Prophet T.B. Joshua is the Grand Patron of Northern Nigerian Youths.
The congregation rose to their feet clapping as Prophet T.B. Joshua was presented with the award as Philanthropist Par Excellence Ambassador of Peace.
Standing side by side with them, the Prophet explained to the world his reason for accepting this award during the live service. He said, “I will receive this award in order to join them to bring peace to some troubled spots in our nation, Nigeria”.

Pastor arraigned in Benin for defiling male church member

Ogbebor, who was arrested after a boy, who he made to swear an oath of secrecy, told his parents what the pastor was doing to him.
The pastor, who did not deny the allegation of homosexuality levelled against him, said, “I am only passing through temptation and have only done it four times with a 22-year-old man and member of my church. I can’t claim that it was the devil’s influence, let God decide my case.”The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Foluso Ayodeji Adebanjo, who confirmed the incident, said that the Pastor was arrested by men of the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Edo State Police Command following a complaint lodged by the father of one of his victims.
The young man, who did not want his name mentioned, said that Pastor Ogbebor started harassing him since 2007 when he was only fifteen years old and that he made him take oath of secrecy and promised to kill him if he told anyone.
According to him, “Each time, I told him it is painful and that I don’t want to do it again. I told him I will tell my parents but he forced me to take oath saying if I ever tell anyone I will not live to see the next day.”
He furthered revealed how Ogbebor mixed olive oil with sand and robbed it on his head while chanting incantations in an unusual language and casting spells on him, with an emphasis on the fact that if he tells anybody he would die like a fowl.
He said to buttress his threat he gave him the liver and gizzard of chicken to eat saying these acts were usually performed at midnight under the guise of a night vigil.
The victim was said to have reported Pastor Ogbebor before the congregation with Ogbebor also denying the claims in the congregation’s presence.
After the confession by the victim to the congregation, his father, who is also a member of the church, promptly confronted Pastor Ogbebor on the matter. As the issue degenerated into a rowdy affair in the church, the pastor reportedly confessed to the crime and pledged to take the victim, who has been battling with spiritual and health challenges to the hospital for medical treatment.
The Commissioner of Police said the suspect has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Benin on a charge of indecent assault under the Sections 214(1) and 352 of the constitution and will soon be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
The Magistrate was said to have ordered Ogbebor’s detention at the Oko Medium Security Prison in the state capital pending the commencement of trial.

Archaeologists Discover 'Holy Thing' In Balatlar Church In Turkey
While excavating the ancient Balatlar Church, a seventh-century building in Sinop, Turkey, on the shores of the Black Sea, they uncovered a stone chest that contained objects that may be directly connected with Jesus Christ.
Excavation head Professor Gülgün Köroğlu definitively stated:
We have found a holy thing in a chest. It is a piece of a cross, and we think it was [part of the cross on which Jesus was crucified]. This stone chest is very important to us. It has a history and is the most important artifact we have unearthed so far.The stone chest has been taken to a laboratory for further testing. However, the appearance of the chest suggests that it was a repository for the relics of a holy person, according to the team, who showed reporters at the site a stone with crosses carved into it.
Many churches claim to possess relics of the so-called "true cross," though the authenticity of the items is not fully accepted by scholars and scientists. Protestant theologian John Calvin noted that, "if all the pieces that could be found were collected together, they would make a big ship-load," referring specifically to the cross. On the other hand, the 19th-century French archaeologist Charles Rohault de Fleury supposedly said that all of the catalogued relics would only make up less than a third of the mass of a roughly 12-foot-high cross.
But what originally happened to Jesus' cross, and why has it turned up now? Legend says that Emperor Constantine's mother, Helena, found the cross in Jerusalem and distributed pieces of the wood to religious leaders in Jerusalem, Rome, and Constantinople.
Balatlar Church, built in 660, has proved an especially rich dig site, as Köroğlu mentioned that in addition to the stone chest, her team has found the ruins of an ancient Roman bath and more than 1,000 human skeletons since they started working in 2009.
