Game Calls Ban on Saggy Pants Racist

The shore town of Wildwood, NJ, cracked down on the saggy pants epidemic, voting unanimously Wednesday (June 12) to ban people from hitting its boardwalk without a proper fit. The newly passed law prohibits everyone from wearing pants sagging more than three inches below the hip.


"This is just adding a little bit of decency to our town," Mayor Ernest Troiano Jr. said. "It's amazing — and this is a pun — how far decency has fallen through the cracks."

In taking on what has become a fashion staple in the rap world, Troiano and others in favor of the newly passed clothing restriction angered Game, who thinks the whole thing is racist. Game's not from New Jersey nor does he live on the East Coast. He does however like to wear saggy pants, and believes all "n----s" in the town should resort to an act of civil disobedience. "N----s should sag down to their socks out there," he told TMZ. "They trying to get people to not sag, please. Can’t tell people how to wear their f---ing clothes. This ain't the f----ing slave days. F--- that."

Under the new law, first-time violators face community service and a $25-$100 fine, which increases to $200 for repeat offenders. Game has agreed to cover the fee for lawbreakers. "I am with the sagging movement. First five people to get fines, I will pay their tickets."

He's even ready to physically join the movement. "I will go there and sag, cause I am a sagging Sagittarius."

Other rappers questioning Wildwood's motives include Bizzy Bone ("Are they talking about black people? How can they do that? That is racist and ridiculous," he said.) and Mac Miller, a white rapper ("I just think that's ridiculous because no one has time to do that much community service. I sag and will sag anywhere I go," he said).

The war on saggy pants isn't specific to Jersey, cities in Florida and Lousianna have brought forward similar legislation.
